  thou shalt not stay at a hotel that is not on the rooming list.

  work prevented me from attending our assigned district (regional) convention so i arranged my schedule to attend in a different city/weekend.

  i know that's not a problem, brothers and sisters do it all the time.

  I recall when the WT first went to the new food services arrangement and we were told not to bring in outside food. I walked down to the local KFC with my son and brought back the KFC to eat it in the assembly venue. You should have seen the dirty looks I got and I got an earful from some elder "friend" of ours. The thing is I didn't care as I did it deliberately just to say I do not need anyone controlling every thing I do.

  if getting ready means putting on a suit........ you might be a j.w.. if going out to the field has nothing to do with grass, baseball diamonds, or football ......... you might be a j.w.. please continue my friends.......i know ya got some.....; ).

  Just had this sent to me. I am not sure if its being posted before but I got a laugh out of it.

  Gregorian calendar from year to year, and yet you commonly
  forget your own birthday.
  
  If "Memorial Day" isn't in May.
  
  If you spent days at a baseball stadium, never saw a ball, and
  didn't even have a beer.
  
  If you think "formal clothing" and "civic center" belong in the same
  sentence.
  
  If you wash windows or cars for a living and still own five suits.
  
  If you think nothing of letting your friends stop by to use the
  bathroom.
  
  If you know the cleanliness of every coffee shop for four towns around.
  
  If you think 2-door vehicles aren't really cars.
  
  If you go to Home Depot and go down the aisle where doors are displayed
  and you feel compelled to knock on them.
  
  If you can't buy a pair of shoes without thinking about how comfortable
  they will need to be while walking residential streets in 95-degree
  heat.
  
  If you have a tendency to refer to books by color instead of by title.
  
  If you have a shelf just for 192-page books.
  
  If you can't pick up a book, or anything else to read, without picking
  up a pencil or highlighter too.
  
  If you think it is complimentary to refer to someone as "a study".
  
  If you have "get-togethers" rather than "parties".
  
  If, after one of such "get-togethers" at your home, your house is not
  a mess and you have more food than when you started.
  
  If you realize things are getting worse, and you're thrilled!!

  Religion is dying a slow death!!!

  religion has run its course, it was used as a way to control growing populations and to give the human race a sense of direction almost like training wheels.

  religion has gone on a path of no return... that includes the only true religion of jw's!!!

  It is in decline in more prosperous educated countries. Religions still thrive in third world countries where they are under educated illiterate. The only scary thing I see as the world population keeps expanding eventually there will be too many people to properly educate them all and this will lead to another dark ages. I am sure that is what most major religions are hoping for.

  Will my inactive JW bring our children up as a witness?

  i have been with an in active jw for 6 years, she now wants to marry and have a child, will she want to bring a child up as a witness, she says not but any experiences?

  will she start go back once we are married?

  Conversation with a “Genius" JW

  this is a real conversation i had with a jw friend last night.

  several times previously he claimed to be a certified genius, having supposedly passed the mensa test.... .

  me: so what do you think about jws condoning the idea that dinosaurs could have lived with humans?.

  i've been toying with the idea of just coming out and posting my name and location as an attempt to be available to locals that secretly browse the forum that have known me for up to 25 years.

  ( "reaching out", so to speak ).

  i'm not da'd or df'd, so this most certainly could end in a dramatic confrontation.

  You know what your getting into by posting your real name that's up to you. Like the above posters were mentioning that you have had a lot of problems with your JW wife, so you may want to really think over your decision. Myself I was very careful what I posted on here when my parents were still alive. Now I really don't care if they know who I am.

  dubs have been saying this a lot lately in my area.

  i haven't said this yet, but all i can think is, "yeah, i wonder if that's what xtians were thinking after the apostles died back in the day.

  The early WT had a board of directors but the GB as we know it didn't come in till the 70's. I think the big reason why it has changed is because up until the last 10 years it was run by a bunch of 80+ year old men. Now most of the GB are 50-60 age group.

  Having Judeo-Christian culture and values does not make a society moral. Some of the most immoral and despicable acts have being done by Judeo-Christian countries.
